Pininfarina Hard Drives

Say the word Pininfarina and I'm instantly intrigued. The latest object of desire to get the magic touch from the Italian design house most famous for the Ferrari is the humble storage drive. SimpleTech has created a Pininfarina-designed SimpleDrive line that includes a portable hard drive, external hard drive and USB drive. The sleek and simple drives come in white, black and a Ferrari reminiscent red. The hard drives can be found for around $100.

Sportech gives a Golf 335 hp and 1,800 watts

Sportech is a South African tuner with a penchant for German cars. Out to build the fastest GTI around, they are currently working on a people's missile called the P Cubed Golf. It will have, among many other things, 335 hp, and is being built to handle just as well as it flies.

Somehow they plan to wring those 335 ponies from the turbocharged 2.0-liter that hauls the GTI, but Sportech hasn't said how they'll do it. If they pull that off, they expect a top speed in excess of 150 mph. And because apparently there isn't much to do when traveling at Mach 0.2, inside the car will be an 1,800-watt Rockford Fosgate system, three 7-inch touchscreens, two tablet PC's for the back seat passengers, wireless Internet, and a DVD screen and 15-inch sub in the trunk. Oh, and the rear bench is swapped out for twin Recaros that match the ones in front.

According to Sportech's Chad Wentzel, the paint job is meant to "make more than a few heads swivel with its dramatic looks." If you happen to be in South Africa on April 27, you can check it out at the Castrol Extreme Show. Mach schnell indeed.

You've gotta love a good sense of humor. It takes a special kind of person to purchase an old hearse as daily transportation, but we like it. It's irreverent and offbeat but (morbidly) practical, with lots of cargo space. The "NDERTKR" plates are simply to die for. And that plate frame -- "My day begins when your days end" “Meu dia começa quando seus dias terminam”-- seems divinely inspired. But the coup de grâce here is the single handprint on the INSIDE of the back window. Positively wicked.

Astrônomos europeus encontraram o planeta mais parecido com a Terra fora de nosso sistema solar. De acordo com os astrônomos, a temperatura do planeta poderia muito bem possibilitar o surgimento de vida.

O planeta tem tamanho parecido com a Terra e é um dos primeiros planetas potencialmente habitáveis, sem contar a própria Terra e Marte.

Os astrônomos que anunciaram a descoberta do novo planeta disseram que isto os coloca próximos da resposta para a pergunta: Nós estamos sozinhos?

"É um significante passo no caminho para a possível descoberta de vida no universo", disse o astrônomo Michel Mayor, um dos 11 cientistas europeus da equipe que encontraram o novo corpo celeste. "É uma bela descoberta. Nós ainda temos muitas perguntas".
